Name tracing worksheet
Type your child's name, or several names for a class, and get a printable page for each name in big dotted letters, the way children learn to write it at school or in all capitals. Green dots show where each stroke starts.
Why start with their name?
A child's own name is usually the first word they want to write. Seeing it in big letters makes tracing feel personal, and it teaches many of the letter shapes they need.
Tips
- Most schools teach a capital letter first, then lowercase: Ali, not ALI. Very young children often find all capitals easier to start with.
- Trace one row a day rather than the whole page at once.
- Not sure how a letter goes? Each letter has its own sheet, for example letter A.
